TechNet operates a state program to expand the technology industry’s policy advocacy and political engagement in state legislatures. Developed in close coordination with our members, the TechNet State Policy Program offers outstanding legislative service and political effectiveness.
TechNet leverages its regional offices to build policy advocacy in key states, including California, Texas/Southwest, Washington State/Northwest, Massachusetts/New England, and New York. TechNet’s networks of CEO’s and member companies in these regions provide the bases for effective advocacy.
Our program delivers an efficient policy development process, best-in-class legislative tracking, and feet on the ground in crucial states. And, following TechNet’s precedent of leadership, the State Policy Program builds strong ties between policy makers and our members. With these elements combined, the TechNet State Policy Program has delivered significant achievements; the State Policy Program has secured the passage of a modernized corporate income tax in California, and legislation expanding the use of technology for education in Texas.
STATE LEGISLATIVE TRACKING SERVICE
The TechNet State Policy Program provides its members with legislative tracking through Stateside Associates, the industry’s best state legislative coverage. Through this service, members can stay alert on a broad array of policy issues with bill summaries for tax policy, environmental regulation, Internet privacy, and more. Likewise, members can access information on each state’s political landscape, including legislative developments, executive branch activity, and election results.
The TechNet State Program can also provide members with tailored e-mail alerts to ensure members’ awareness of the latest political intelligence.
